Trust & Safety

Understand the identity, payment, transfer-evidence, dispute, and account-security controls used by SpareHolidays.

How Buyer Protection Works

1

Payment Recorded Before Transfer

Stripe processes the payment before the seller begins the transfer, and the transaction records its status.

2

Seller Transfers Booking

The seller transfers the booking to your name. You verify the transfer is complete.

3

Confirmation, Dispute, and Payout

Confirm the result or raise a dispute within the applicable window. The transaction applies the payout rule for that booking type.

What's Covered

Booking Not Transferred

A dispute can be opened if the seller fails to transfer the booking.

Incorrect Details

Protection if the booking details don't match the listing.

Seller No-Show

The applicable protection terms explain what happens if a seller does not respond.

How SpareHolidays keeps travel resale safe

How does SpareHolidays review a booking before you buy?

A seller provides booking details, transfer information, and supporting evidence when creating a listing. That evidence can support platform review and a later dispute, but it is not confirmation from the travel provider and does not guarantee that a booking can be transferred. Buyers should read the listing carefully and check the provider's current transfer rules before purchasing.

How are sellers identity-verified on SpareHolidays?

A seller can publish a listing before verifying: every listing is reviewed by our team before it goes live, and the listing shows whether the seller's identity is verified. Identity verification through Stripe Identity is required before that seller can accept an offer or hand over a booking. Stripe handles the identity document and verification result; the document is not displayed to buyers. Identity verification confirms who controls the account, but it does not prove a listing's price, quality, or transferability.

How is a buyer's payment handled on SpareHolidays?

The buyer pays through the platform before the seller completes the agreed transfer. The transaction then follows the confirmation, dispute, and payout rules shown for that booking. Buyers should review those terms before paying and use the dashboard to confirm the transfer or raise a dispute with supporting evidence.

What happens if a booking transfer fails?

If a supplier will not complete the transfer, the buyer can raise a dispute within the window shown for the transaction. SpareHolidays reviews the available evidence before deciding the outcome under the applicable terms. A dispute can result in a refund, a partial refund, release to the seller, or another agreed resolution; no result is automatic or guaranteed simply because a dispute was opened.

Why do you have to verify your identity to sell?

Identity verification connects a seller account to a real person and supports account integrity and dispute handling. Stripe Identity processes the identity check before a seller can publish. This is one trust signal only: buyers still need clear booking evidence, accurate transfer rules, and the platform's transaction process.

When is the seller paid after a sale?

Payout timing depends on the booking. For a booking with travel dates, payout is scheduled two calendar days after the trip ends. For a booking without travel dates, a separate confirmation and dispute-window rule applies. The transaction dashboard shows the relevant timing, and a dispute can pause release while evidence is reviewed.

What types of bookings can be listed on SpareHolidays?

The public listing flow currently covers flights, hotels, packages, and vouchers. A booking is suitable only when the original supplier allows the required transfer or handover. Category support does not guarantee that every booking from a provider is transferable, so sellers should check the supplier's current rules before listing.
