How to sell a non-refundable travel booking
SpareHolidays is a peer-to-peer marketplace for transferable flights, hotels, packages, and vouchers. Listing is free and sellers set the asking price. Buyers can negotiate, and each transaction shows the applicable identity, transfer, dispute, and payout steps.
Four transferable travel categories
SpareHolidays currently supports flights, hotels, packages, and vouchers. The booking must be transferable under the original provider's rules.
Flights
Non-refundable flight tickets you can no longer use. Airlines such as Ryanair, easyJet, and Wizz Air allow full name changes for a fee — list the booking, set your price, and SpareHolidays walks the buyer through the transfer.
Hotels
Prepaid hotel reservations with changeable guest names. Direct bookings with chains like Hilton are typically transferable by phone. Non-refundable OTA bookings (Booking.com) are generally not — confirm transferability before listing.
Packages
Eligible travel packages whose operator permits the required passenger or booking change.
Vouchers
Travel vouchers, airline credits, and gift cards. Most voucher credits are not name-linked and can be transferred by sharing the voucher code and reference number.
Submit for review and follow the transaction
Listing is free. A buyer pays before you complete the supplier's official transfer and upload proof. The transaction shows the confirmation, dispute, and payout timing for that booking type.
Create a free listing
Select your travel type, enter the booking details, upload your confirmation, and set your asking price. Listing is completely free. When you submit your listing, it enters our review queue. A person checks it, and it becomes public only after approval.
Buyer pays before transfer
A buyer pays at your asking price or submits a lower offer you can accept, reject, or counter. After payment, complete the transfer. If it fails, the buyer can raise a dispute under the applicable terms.
Transfer the booking
Transfer the booking into the buyer's name with the supplier's official process and upload proof. The buyer can confirm the result or raise a dispute within the applicable window.
Follow the payout date shown
The transaction shows the applicable payout timing. Bookings with travel dates and bookings without travel dates use different rules, and an open dispute can pause release.
Free to list — buyers pay the fee
Listing on SpareHolidays is free. Buyers pay the service fee shown for the transaction, and sellers keep their asking price. Buyers complete Stripe Identity at the required transaction stage before seller payout can be released.
Free to list
Listing is free. SpareHolidays charges sellers no commission. Buyers pay a tiered service fee: 10% on purchases under €500, 8% up to €1,500, 6% up to €3,000, and 5% on purchases above €3,000. The fee covers payment processing, identity verification, and platform operations. Sellers receive their asking price subject to the transaction's applicable payout and dispute outcome; the buyer fee is added on top rather than deducted as seller commission.
Stripe payment before transfer
When a buyer pays, the seller completes the transfer. The transaction shows its confirmation, dispute, and payout timing. If the booking cannot be transferred, the buyer can raise a dispute for review.
Real people, verified
Identity verification with Stripe is required before a seller can accept an offer or hand over a booking. Buyers complete it at the required transaction stage before seller payout can be released. Stripe handles the identity check and SpareHolidays receives the result rather than the identity document.
Clear payout timing
The applicable payout date is shown in the transaction. Dated and no-date bookings use different timing rules.
Seller FAQs
Does listing cost anything?
No — listing on SpareHolidays is free for sellers, with no seller commission deducted from the asking price. Buyers pay a tiered service fee added on top: 10% under €500, 8% up to €1,500, 6% up to €3,000, and 5% above €3,000. The fee covers payment processing, Stripe Identity, and platform operations. Payout remains subject to the transaction's applicable transfer and dispute outcome.
What can I sell?
SpareHolidays currently accepts transferable flights, hotel reservations, packages, and travel vouchers. Check the original provider's current transfer rules for the specific booking before listing.
How and when am I paid?
The buyer pays before you complete the official transfer. For a booking with travel dates, payout is scheduled two calendar days after the trip ends. A booking without travel dates uses a separate confirmation and dispute-window rule. The transaction shows the applicable date, and an open dispute can pause release while evidence is reviewed.
What if no buyer confirms?
The transaction shows any action required from the buyer and the scheduled payout date. If the buyer does not respond, the applicable confirmation rule runs automatically. An open dispute pauses the normal release while evidence is reviewed.
Why do I need to verify my identity to sell?
Identity verification with Stripe is required before a seller can accept an offer or hand over a booking. Buyers complete it at the required transaction stage before seller payout can be released. SpareHolidays receives the result rather than the ID document. The check does not verify a booking or guarantee a transfer.
List your booking free
SpareHolidays is free to list on. Set your asking price, review offers, and follow the booking-specific transfer and payout steps shown in the transaction.
